Printing Journals for AP only

Is it possible to set up to print journals for AP only?

If so, I need to the journal to not only print but also be able to save it to a file.

Thanks.

    Jannice,

Ideally, you would have the Auto Journal turned on (Tools > Options > Journals) which would automatically save your journal to a file.  Then, to review/print a hard copy go to File > Printouts and locate the specific journal to view.  While viewing you can print a hard copy.  If you print it first, you will have to scan it in to save to a file.  A journal is generated at the end of a Task and cannot be recreated.

The issue with this is that the AP clerk can click on any journals including Payroll. I haven't showed her where to print AP journals because exactly for this reason.

There is something in AP under tools then options that seems to be where you can tell journals where to save?  That might be an option. I have not used that so unsure.

Save the AP printout file in a different folder, drive, etc is what I meant

    JLPWinter,

An extra step you can take, if you have already turned on the feature to save journals automatically, is to make sure that your AP journals and PR journals are saved in a different folder and you can either provide your user access to only the AP journal folder or deny them access to the PR journal folder.  Using Windows Explore, you can access the permissions of a folder (may need an IT resource for this) and can deny access to a specific user.

This would allow the user access to the Journals, except for anything to do with Payroll.

Sage does not have a way to restrict access to Journals, only reports saved to a .prn file type.
