Job Cost Status

My team recently noticed some jobs which have costs posted to them, but still show as "Unstarted". Wondering what the trigger is in the software which makes a job go from "Unstarted" to "In Progress". We run several reports and even simply go into inquiry and because whatever criteria is not being met to change the status, certain jobs which are in fact in progress are not showing up. This is creating issues with AP and with reports we run for WIP. The only thing we could come up with as a possibility relates to the accounting period. We just closed April and the bills for the jobs we are looking at are dated in July. Maybe this could be the reason? Just grasping at straws here.

    Job cost can only posts costs one month in the future. So, the costs in July won't post until you have closed May and moved into June in the job cost module. I don't know if this is what is causing the jobs to not move to "In Progress" but you can manually change them to "In Progress" by going to the Job Setup and changing it htere.
