You can use an inquiry to get Static date into Excel.  If you are looking to have access to dynamic (Live) data you will need to use ODBC or Office Connector. I suggest Office Connector. If you want more info you can contact me.

If you go into inquiry, master file, find what you are looking for, the button at the top next to the hour glass is a green "X" that is how you get it to download to excel. You have to save the file to be able to open it. I just use a dummy file, so I can see what I am looking for. I hope this helps.
