Service Management Edit Time Entires coluns are not sized properly

In Service Management when I try to do Edit Time Entries, the columns that show in the pop up window are extremely wide so only two or three columns show on my screen at a time.  When I try and make the first two columns narrower the third column just gets bigger and in most cases I never get to the right hand side of the third column so that I can make it smaller.

I've tried changing my screen resolution size, freezing and unfreezing columns, showing extra columns and hiding some columns and nothing every seems to work.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

  • Hi SNeu2!

I have one customer who has ONE workstation that this happens to all the time. The "fix" is to reset the time entry screen to it's default settings on that workstation for that user as the grid layout is user specific.

Note: This requires modification of the Windows register. If you are not comfortable with this, please have your IT department perform this fix. I also recommend backing up the registry (it is relatively quick) before making any changes to it.

First, close Service Management. Then, in the Registry Editor (from the Windows start menu, go to Run, type regedit, and press enter), find and rename the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Timberline\Service Management\EDIT_TIME_ENTRIES\Grid Columns

Restart Service Management. The time entry grid should be reset and you can customize it again as needed. Note, this may happen again, so keep this procedure handy.

Thank you so much!! That worked beautifully. I will make sure to print this out and keep it in my files as the never ending column was very frustrating. Thanks again for the assistance!
