Spaces added to cell data when exporting reports to excel

For our insurance, I have to export a report to excel. Some columns in the report have extra spaces added to the data in the cell. Does anyone have experience getting Report Designer to export the data without adding spaces?

    That may be a ways above my skill level, but I'll see what I can do with it. Another complication of the procedure is that eventually I'll need to get this process automated so that I'm not sending reports manually every day. Do you think the MyAssistant module would be able to pull the database query and send it off to the insurance company? Thanks for your help by the way.
