Windows 8.1 and estimating

Hi all,

I am in desperate need of upgrading my computer and I'm currently running Estimating version 9.8 Rev 3. Can I buy an windows 8.1 machine and if so, does it need to be pro or enterprise or can it be simply 8.1? or do I need to try to find a new windows 7 machine? Additionally, what is the latest version of estimating I should be downloading and installing/upgrading files to? - I'm seeing information about 12.1 and 14.11 but the downloads for 14.1 are for accounting or Accounting, document management or residential management. I'm very confused.

I am finding that navigating Sage's website is extremely difficult and information is sparse when I actually find it or I have to read 4 or 5 supplemental pages before getting to a point and then still being completely confused. A lot of question so I Thank you anyone/everyone.for your answers ahead of time.

9.8 is not a supported version for Windows 8.1. Starting with Sage 300 Contstruction and Real Estate Version 14.1 will include support for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2. We will also not be supporting 9.8 at year end only Versions 13 and 14, so you will need to get on a current version for both Accounting and Estimating. You can call into phone support at 1-800-551-8307 if you have further questions about how to upgrade to the most current version of the program.

    Thank you
