Sage FAS server compatibility

SUGGESTED

Good afternoon, all!

I've started managing the Sage FAS server at a client site. The current installation is version 18.1 on a Windows 2012 R2 server. We're starting a project to upgrade our Win2012 fleet to Server 2019 or better.

I'm looking for information on upgrading Windows and databases behind this Sage installation.Any suggestions on where to look and begin would be great!

Thanks to all for looking!

    Hello Gregg,

If you are looking to do an in-place update of the OS, we recommend uninstalling the program first and to treat the operation more like a as a migration except you should be able to find your databases once the program is installed after the update - doing the backups prior uninstalling and moving those BBK files elsewhere would be a good plan.

The short version would be: Backup your companies, uninstall the 2018.1, update your OS, install 2020.1 and convert your database(s) then continue updating until you get to the latest versions.

Since I do not know which product you have installed I cannot be more detailed, but if you go to the Sage Knowledgebase and search for How to update to 2022.1, there is update path information in the Additional Information of all the update articles.
