Without seeing the details of the asset in question, it is not possible to answer to answer the question with any precision, but at a guess Clear the Beginning date information, see How to reset depreciation on an individual asset or group of assets for details.

We are actually trying to run the report for December, which is the same month it was purchased.  I tried running depreciation on it again and it doesn't update the depreciation date to 12/31/21 because it is not set to start depreciating until 2022.  But the asset  value should still show on the depreciation expense report, just with zero depreciation expense.

Again, without the asset details, I really cannot answer the question - I can only guess.
