Report for YTD Depreciation That Includes Prior Fiscal Year Catch Up and Current Year Depreciation

SUGGESTED

I frequently have situations where I have a project that went into service in November 2018, and I did not find out about it until the current month in 2019.  I setup the project in SAGE with a 2018 in-service date.  When SAGE calculates depreciation in the current period, it calculates depreciation for Nov and Dec of 2018, and then all of 2019 through the current month, which is September 2019 in this case.

The SAGE Depreciation Expense reports show a column titled Current YTD Depreciation, which contains the depreciation for 2019 only.  It does not contain the 2 months of catch-up depreciation from 2018.

Is there a report in SAGE that shows all the depreciation calculated in 2019, which includes the 2 months of catch-up depreciation from 2018, and the 9 months (Jan-Sep) of depreciation calculated for 2019?

If so, where do I go in SAGE to create it or generate it?

Thanks.

    Hello Deryl,

The Current YTD field can only show the amount of depreciation taken in the current fiscal period as defined by the calendar under Edit Company. That number cannot be change by the way the depreciation is ran unless the calendar is changed first which is not really something you will want to do.

There is another field on that report, the Depreciation this run, which would do exactly what you are asking. Please See What is depreciation this run? for more details.

By controlling the Prior through date. The only way you get one month depreciation for 9/2019 on an asset PIS in 11/2018 is either you have already ran depreciation for 8/2019 or you have overridden the depreciation with the Beginning information.

Reset Depreciation on the asset to the PIS date and try again.

    Hi, Delray.

The Depreciation This Run column only gives me the depreciation for the current period, Sep 2019 for example, and the catch up depreciation through Sep 2019 for assets with an in-service date in a prior period (e.g. an asset with a November 1, 2018 in-service date) that we are setting up for depreciation in September 2019, (but with that November 1, 2018 in-service date).

What I am looking for is the cumulative YTD depreciation through September 2019 for all assets setup in Sage in 2019.  Those assets setup in 2019 would be those with in-service dates in 2019, and those with in-service dates prior to 2019.

How would I obtain that cumulative YTD depreciation number in Sage?
