Issues printing Asset Detail directly to printer

We have a new employee with a new computer.  Last week the Sage Fixed Asset program was installed on her computer.  She has been unable to print Asset Detail directly to the printer.  Her only option is to save it as a PDF file, open that file in PDF, and print from the separate program.  She is working on large project of cleaning up new assets and will need to do a good bit of printing for backup to changes being made.

I did set up her default printer by going to File and then Print Setup and adding the default printer.  It works for print reports - but not for Asset Detail printing.  None of the other users have ever had this issue.

I was hoping someone could help us to resolve this issue.  Thanks!

    Is there an error when trying to print out the main tab (asset detail)? This is helpful in helping troubleshoot. Another option would be to call our customer support for assistance with this issue. Have your customer number that is 10 digit long and starting with 400 and call 800-331-8514 Monday - Friday 9am - 8pm EST.

    Has the end user tried to set the printer inside the Sage Fixed Assets application by clicking on File menu, Print Setup? In there she can change the printer selection from PDF to something else. Also make sure to check the default set printer in printer and devices in Windows.

    There is no error.  It just goes straight to a box to save it as a PDF file.  It gives no option to print - just save.

    Yes - as I said above, we did that.  It prints correctly when we run reports - just not for Asset Detail.

    I ran into this issue today and asked one of my employees who works with Sage FAS more than me.  The way to fix was to open a program (Word, Adobe) and print something directly to the printer.  That cleared it up.

    Does this fix it so that it will let you go straight to the printer in the future, or is this just always going to be the way to print asset detail?  It just seems odd that all of our other users can print straight to the printer chosen as the default.  If it doesn't permanently change it to allow printing to the printer, it is not really any improvement.  This person has to print multiple assets at one time, so that would be a cumbersome process.

    Yes!  This issue is something that was happening to a new employee with a new computer.  Here is what we did:

    In Sage, go to File, select Print Setup.  In the box that pops up, select the printer from the Name dropdown box.  Then click OK.  You must restart your computer for this to take effect!  That was our issue before, she did not restart the computer.  Now it works perfectly!
