Is it possible to create a copy of the database

SUGGESTED

Hi all,  Is it possible to create a copy of database in SAGE fixed assets?  I advised my client to possibly to create a new set of books by creating a copy of the existing databse, but she claims this is impossible task.  She claims the only way to do this is to manually go into each asset and add a new set of books. Is there any feature in SAGE for bulk conversion or is it something SAGE specialist could help??  Thanks!

    Hi TCJA,

It is indeed possible to copy a company with its database of asset records onto another database file.  Please refer to How to copy a company

Your client would best be served with some training.  Database concepts such as asset records and the relationship of a company to a database file are taught in the Basic Depreciation class.  And the Copy Company feature, referenced in the Sage Knowledgebase link above, is taught in the Intermediate Depreciation class.  Both classes are offered through Sage U.  Please check it out at www.sageu.com/fixedassets!

Please pass along my recommendation to your client.  I am sure she will appreciate your wise counsel!
