We recently needed to move our entire program SAGE & all associated data to a new server.
We were very surprised to find that there is no way to migrate to the new server without losing all the users and BOTH the "system level security" AND the "company level security".
Then I tried to just "restore" a company from backup to the same server. Lost the company level security. So, when you "backup company"; you are backing up the data & the reports & the profiles; but that's it.
So, what does that mean to us? We have to go into each & every company that we have 1 by1 ....all 600 of them. Open the company and add all 14 users to one of the 3 company security groups. It will take many many man hours to do this & is wrought with potential for error. The company profiles come over; but not the company privileges. And there's no way to assign the same company privileges to a group of selected companies all at once.
It's crazy....
