Assets not rolling

SOLVED

I am having serious problems with my file.  First, when I calculate depreciation, the system locks up at the generation of the Depreciation Expense report.  I get an "invalid OleAut Date" error and it says to contact my system administrator----which is ME.  I am a new user, so I have no idea what this is.  It locks up the software and I have to go into Task Manager to force the software to close and then re-open it.  I have no idea what to do.

Second, I got my data file from our consultants.  It ties to my 12/31/13 balances.  I closed the period.  I calculated depreciation for January 2014.  My book accumulated depreciation as of 1/1/14 is correct---it equals 12/31/13 accumulated plus 2013 expense.  However, my tax does not roll.  It should be 12/31/13 accumulated plus 2013 expense but it isn't, it's over $61,000 less.  In looking in detail, it looks like some assets aren't rolling.  It looks like all of my 2013 disposals are still showing up in the report.

I can't figure out what Sage is doing.  I need this fixed like yesterday too.

Help!!!

For the Error: "Not a Legal OleAut Date" there are two Workarounds for this issue:

     1. When running depreciation, uncheck the Windows and Printer options: Go to Reports, Standard Reports or Tax Reports, select and run the desire Report.

     2. In the Control Panel, Region and Language, change the Short Date format to M/d/yyyy

The Period close does not set your year end - It is just a copy of the current depreciation information into another set of fields. The Year end is setup in File, Edit Company and it sounds like your Fiscal Year End is not set to December for the Tax book.
