On the machine where FAS 50 Asset Accounting is installed, ensure that the user account used to login to the machine has Full Control of the c:\program files\best software or SageFAS folder.

Other thing to check include:

If the error is occurring when running reports, depreciation, or other process; the database or company name may be too long or contain special characters. Change the name of the software to be 20 characters or less (including spaces). If any &, %, “, or ‘ punctuation marks are included, remove all punctuation marks.

Another possibility is that the database itself may be corrupt. Through File>Company Utilities>Backup Company, backup all companies within the database. Go to File>Database List Manager, click New Database to create a new database. Then restore the companies into the new database using File>Company Utilities>Restore Company. Within the new database the error should no longer occur.
