Print Labels out of Sage Fixed Assets

SUGGESTED

Have a request to print labels out of Sage Fixed Assets. Is this possible using SFA crystal reports or would they need to purchase the report writer or would they need to purchase Sage Fixed Asset Tracking?

    Hello Dana,

The Tracking program does have a built-in report for labels which makes things a lot easier.

It is possible to create a Crystal report which will generate labels, but I am having difficulty remembering how to do that right off the top on my head, so this is not going to be very precise.

I seem to recall that you Insert a text object with *{the field update want as the barcode}* so that is an Asterisk <the field> followed be an Asterisk and when the Code 39 font is applied, it becomes a readable barcode.

I have even done the same thing in Word in the past, but it has been years, and the details are vague in my mind, but it is possible to convert any field into a barcode.

Thank you Delray. Are you saying that you need the Tracking Module in order to print labels? We don't need the barcode on there. Just text fields. Can you do this with just Depreciation Network with the reports module?

The label printed out of Tracking are nothing but barcodes, but you are not looking for barcodes.

Yes, there is a way through the Reporting Module to create a report where the asset details appear as columns, and you can arrange the data fields from the program to print on those labels.

Once you create a report in the Reporting Module, go to Report, Selection Expert, highlight the Details and select the Layout tab and there you can set the parameters starting with the Width to get each of the selected fields for each asset onto the labels.
