Setting up "GST and HST Paid on Purchases" for a Not for Profit company

Hello!

I am really hoping someone can help me with this, I have posed this question on my class discussion board but have had no help! I have my assignment due in a few days and I need an answer before I can keep working!

We have had to set up a not for profit organization, and its accounts. Under Liabilities I have set up 4 tax accounts. GST & HST charged on sales. AND GST & HST paid on purchases.

After entering the accounts and their historical balances, the Trial Balance in the book shows the "GST and HST paid on purchases" are negative amounts on the Debit side. My accounts do not show up as negatives and thus giving me a different total amount for my Liabilities than in the text. What did I do wrong lol?
