Student version has expired.

Hi,

I was trying to use the sage, and my laptop updated, and when I was trying to open the sage 50, it says that the student version has expired. I already registered for 14 months, so I click the activate now, and it is asking for the account id. Can you please help me out how to figure things out? Thank you.

    Hi 

    Please note that the Student Version doesn't ask for an Account ID. During the install of the software, you would have had to input the serial number you received after registering in Step 2 on http://sage.com/ca/about-us/education.

    • The below images highlight what you should / should not see.

     

    If you plan on reinstalling the software, check / do the following steps:

    1. Open Windows Explorer
    2. Go to Documents, Public Documents, Sage Software, Simply Accounting
      1. The default location should be: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Sage Software\Simply Accounting
    3. Delete the year you are working with.
    4. Uninstall Sage 50, the same year you deleted in the step above.
    5. Reinstall from C:\ Sage\ Sage50 [version] Installer Files - CDN Release [Year]
    6. Enter the correct serial number for the year being installed.
    7. Activate with correct codes

    Hi there, I have tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it. I followed all the steps, however, when I am opening my assignments it is asking to active once more with the Account ID

    Hi ,

    What happens when you select to open a sample company? It could be that the data files are not formatted to the student version which is why it's asking for codes for a Full / regular version of the software.

    Regular data files cannot be opened with the student version. If you're sure they are student formatted files, then you'll maybe even want to contact your teacher and the publisher of your textbook for alternate files. If you're sure the files are correct then support is available at 1-888-522-2722.

    Students may receive support for installation issues only. Complimentary technical support is not included with the Sage 50 student version, students are advised to contact their instructor for assistance. Lastly, be sure to email [email protected].

    Also Note that Saturday January 16th, 2021 callback timeslots are also available. Book by visiting the Year End Center for Sage 50 CA here  then click the top right section with text "Questions? Saturday support appointments..." and select your timetrade appointment on the following screen here. Hope this helps!
