How do I respond to this error when I try to open Timeslips 2016: Failed to read from C:\Program Files (x86)\Timeslips\DATA01\LOGIN.DB. The file was not created for use with this function.
Make sure the file is not marked read only. Then look for paradox.lck or pdoxusrs.* and delete any found. Sometimes rebooting will help.
Thanks for this info. I found one PDOXUSRS.NET file and renamed it to read PDOXUSRS.NET (old). The specific file mentioned above does not have the "read only" box checked when I look up its properties. I restarted the machine.
Apparently Sage does not support TS2016, and does not have the program for one time help at no charge. I was offered support for this incident for $275. Any further suggestions you might have will be welcome.
Thanks, Paul
Consultants like myself, can provide assistance. One more thing you can try is to rename the login.db file. If that doesn't work, you can contact me and we can discuss how I can work with you.
Wow, I renamed LOGIN.DB to LOGIN.DB.OLD and I was able to get into the program. I am closing the business for which I use Timeslips, and have very little further use for it, but I am glad to be able to finish off using the program the way I want. Thank you ever so much!
