Preference files now saving as .XML files

SUGGESTED

I have all of the employees set up with .prf files for their individual preferences.  Now when I go in to make changes to preferences and hit "Save As" I get this ---only an option of .xml files and most of the staff is missing.  If I just do a general search of the computer, I can locate all of the .prf files exactly where they should be.  The same file is being accessed T: under User Settings in both examples.  Does this have to do with an update of sorts that .prf files are now .xml files?

Yep, you guessed it. In the Firebird Database (Premium, v2017, 2018 and 2019) they are XML files now.

I usually create a subfolder under the main install on the server and put the Preference files and Dictionaries in there - named by user. That way when the user gets a new workstation, you can just retrieve their old Preferences and Dictionaries from the server and they are right back in business. Similar to what you have done here.

If you leave them on the workstation, it is easy for those files to not be preserved and then you install on the new machine and get the default preferences (which sort of suck IMHO) and then you have to fiddle around trying to figure out what they used to have because the user will complain how it "doesn't look/work like it used to ."

The new Timeslips will read the old PRF file and convert it to XML. So when you go to save it, the reason you don't see the other old PRF files is because it is filtering for only XML. As you save the new format, you will have two of everything in that folder.  One the old PRF and one the new XML.
