Timeslips Outlook Link not under Setup

SOLVED

Timeslips consultant just installed Timeslips 2019 for me three days ago. I just realized today there is no "Timeslips Outlook Link" under Setup. (Note, I unchecked then re-checked the box for Outlook link under Features Enabled, Other, Special). I tried closing everything down and restarting the computer. It still does not appear. I really need this feature for V-cards to send to attorneys I work for (I do their billing and set up their new client files, the Outlook link saves a lot of time). According to specifications I see online, my Outlook 2013 and Timeslips 2019 should work together. The help shows "Timeslips Outlook Link" should appear under Security under the Setup tab. It is nowhere to be found. Please help. Thank you.

Try going to setup > features enabled. Click on Features list and scroll down looking for Outlook link. Check the box.

Thanks but, as I wrote in parenthetical sentence above, 2nd line of my post, I tried that. Thanks though.

Sorry, missed that. I know you said Outlook 2013. Is it 32-bit version?

64-bit. Consultant downloaded Timeslips 2019 for me Saturday. I sent him an email asking if he did something to not allow me to have the feature and am waiting for a reply. I remember him asking me something about using e-billing or something and I did not know what he was talking about and told him that, and he said I didn't need it if I didn't know what it was. I am wondering if he thought I did not need the Outlook link because of that.

It's the 64 bit that is the problem. Timeslips only supports the 32 bit version of Outlook so it doesn't see Outlook on your computer. You will need to uninstall Outlook and install the 32 bit version.

OK, I did not understand (not too tech here). I have 32-bit Outlook (I wondered because it worked fine with Timeslips 2017). I have 62-bit operating system, but 32-bit Outlook. So that leaves that solution out.

Hey, in case you are interested, the consultant just emailed me. He told me this:

            Kathy,

You are the first user in 10 or 15 years who uses this feature.

Go to Setup > Performance Settings.

             Re-enable the outlook link.

Sorry, but i think i will continue disabling it. You are the exception that proves the rule. It is not part of email bills.

You are correct and this is the answer. If the outlook link is enabled in Features enabled yet still does not appear under the Setup menu... then it needs to be turned on under performance settings. Good job!

Outlook link is not required for using the Email bills feature. You only need outlook installed and setup and as long as you have clients with email addresses with their setting "Send bills via email" enabled along with the setting under your Generate BIlls report options to send bills via email... then after approving bills, you should receive a pop up dialog for emailing any clients in that bill run.

outlook link is only for syncing contacts with TImeslips clients and creating slips from outlook items.

also if you have the feature "Create slips from email messages" enabled in features enabled, then you will not be able to use the outlook link until you disable the create slips from email feature.
