Duplicate payment entries under the LawPay Transactions

SOLVED

We are now using LawPay integrated with our TimeSlips 2019 and I really love it!  However, there is a glitch of sorts that occurs periodically.  Today I had duplicate payment entries showing up under the LawPay Transactions.  The duplications do not occur on the LawPay side and I have called the customer service to verify their card wasn't charged twice and they were not.  In this particular screen print, the duplications happened both when the client entered their payment from home ($328.02) and when we manually entered a payment when a client called in ($50.00).  Have you seen this?

    Katmit:

First of all, thanks for posting.  As I have said, the LawPay thing is new in v2019, so we don't have a lot of experience with it yet on a large scale. So hearing about issues is actually helpful because then Sage knows what to work on.

This is the first that I've heard of the duplication. Have you called Sage about it?

HI Katmit, this is an issue that will be resolved in the next SR for Sage Timeslips. The issue is the way that Lawpay initially creates transactions on their website and the way that we download. They (Lawpay) create one instance of that transaction to "authorize" it and then later that transaction becomes "approved" most people that use the Lawpay link in Timeslips as well as in our initial testing were downloading the lawpay transaction(s) in Timeslips immediately after its creation in Lawpays website. Our Lawpay transaction downloader would download that "authorized" transaction and display it in Timeslips and then a few days later when that transaction changed to "Approved" in lawpays side, our system would see that DUPLICATE and ignore it since we already had it.

for some people that download the transactions the first time a few days later after it is entered in Lawpays website, they end up getting the "Authorized" and the"Approved" versions of the transactions making it look like its a duplicate when it is not.

your work around in the Timeslips side is to choose Ignore on one of the duplicate transactions, it doesn't matter which one as to Timeslips they are identical and the same and you can create your AR Payment off either one of them.

on the Lawpay side you dont have to do anything because you only see one instance of that transaction... the Approved version and they hide or remove the Duplicate one.

hopefully that helps answer your question and alleviates any concerns you may have.
