After you import there is a log file which you can open. This will tell you what the issue is. For new clients all you really need is nickname1 and any required custom fields. 

I've got all the custom fields mapped, but it doesn't seem to want the field attribute to stick. Like one of them is the originating attorney, which is pulled from the Timekeeper Nickname, but ever time after I select the Timekeeper tab, it switches back to the Text tab. Same with the date tab.

Also, after the Import fails all I get is the End of Import screen that says Failed, and total read: 1. When I select the Journal button it opens a blank notepad doc.

Sounds like it may be having trouble accessing the database maybe....especially since it won't allow the Timekeeper Nickname to stick.

Does this function need exclusive access to the database? Like does everyone else need to be out of the Timeslips?

Not that it requires it, but I usually do get everyone else out when testing and designing a new one.

Actually, I would just restore a backup locally and test/build with that, then switch to the main database when you are ready to go live.

Yes, I tired restoring them to an old version of the database and I get the same result. Fails before even trying to get through one, journal is empty.

Hmm, then I'd really have to take a look at it to be able to tell you anything more.

Happy to remote in and take a look with you this afternoon, or tomorrow, but there would be a fee for that, so ..... up to you.
