How to change Federal ID# in custom fields

I am running Timeslips v. 2019.  Our firm recently changed hands and has a new name, address, etc.  I was able to change everything but the Federal ID#.  I can change it on the layouts, but I cannot change it in custom fields.  How do I do this?

???? Well, that really seems like an odd place to keep a Federal ID, mainly because your Federal ID does not change for individual clients.

It looks like you are probably doing billing with the LEDES1998B format.

Instead of having to fill in the number over and over again for every client.  I would suggest you use the field in the LEDES1998B setup to enter it ONCE and use that one field to hold your Federal ID. (You may even in fact be set up to do this and be ignoring that field, but I can't tell from what you have posted.)

Also, it appears from your screenshot that what you really are trying to change is the NAME of the field, not the content.  What if anything do you put in the white box to the right?

You may be able to just delete the field entirely, but I would have to double check where your version of Timeslips is pulling that value from for the LEDES file.

If you really just want to change the name of the field, then you need to go to the Setup, Custom Fields area. You must have exclusive access to the database to make changes here, so everyone else will have to get out of the pool.
