Error Message - "Older version of the Time Capture database..."

SOLVED

Hello.  I have recently upgraded to TimeSlips 2019 (build 27.0.2.234).  Occasionally when I log in I get this message:

"You have an older versions of the Time Capture database available.  Would you like to convert them now?" with a Yes/No box option.

Anyone have any experience with this and getting around it?  I have hit both the yes and no and it still appears (but I don't think it's every time).

Thanks in advance.

TIme capture is a feature of of Timeslips that basically captures everything you do on the computer and then you can review and turn the time into time slips - capturing more of your billable time. Many people don't even realize when it is installed.

I suggest you open Time Capture with your new version. You can do this within Timeslips from Special > Time Capture. Review the entries and delete them or convert them to slips. Then make sure your preferences are set for whether it should start automatically going forward. Once the entries are converted or deleted you should stop getting the message.

Once you have Time Capture open, there is help available that describes how it works, the preferences, setting up rules and converting timer entries into Timeslips.

Thank you for this explanation.  When I did that, I got the same message, when I clicked "yes" I got "Stream read error."  Whoops.

Still no luck with this reoccurring error, but thank you for your effort.  When I go to Time Capture as you suggest, nothing whatsoever happens.  I can't even search for it on line - there seems to be no help topic in TimeSlips to even tell me what Time Capture is.  And of course I paid $800 for the upgrade and they wouldn't even talk to me because I didn't subscribe to tech support.    Their installation is faulty but they won't fix it or even try. What bad customer service...

KB article 96734 shows the name and location of the database files for TimeCapture.  If you are not using TimeCapture, you can rename or delete those files.

If you are using it, contact me at 'roger dot sligar at sage dot com' for assistance.

Thank you.  I will take a gander at that.  And since Timecapture seems to do nothing, I don't see how I can use it, but it does seem useful....
