converting timeslips bills into excel

Question

The Iowa Public Defender pays attorneys to handle cases they cannot handle but they require that we submit our itemizations in excel. 
 We use Timeslips 2018 and cannot find a way to automatically convert to excel. This requires one of my assistants to copy and past all timeslips into excel. Does anyone know how to automatically do this or a program that would work well for this? I paid for the electronic billing add on from timeslips, but it's useless in this regard from what I can see.

Okay, so I would create two slightly different custom slip reports that pull only the following 6 values: 
 1) Slip Date 
 2) Timekeeper Full Name 
 3) A Timekeeper Custom Field for the AT Number (blank for Paralegals) 
 4) A Second Timekeeper Custom Field for the AT value on attorney work 
 5) Slip Description 
 6) Slip Time Spent (rounded to nearest .1) 
 
 Once you have that structure, you can run two reports. One will be only IN court time, and the other will be all OUT of court time. 
 You should be able to print both of those to Excel and then just copy/paste the rows and six columns to the Iowa Public Defender's worksheet. 
 You will need to shift the time spent column over one for the out of court stuff, and two for Paralegal time. 
 But still, you would not need to copy paste EACH cell like you are now. 
 Depending on your volume, may be worth building the reports.

Depends on what you need to send. Here is Connecticut I setup a customize slip detail report for a client with a similar need. The report lists the specific fields the firm needs and then instead of print you choose print to excel. Most reports in Timeslips can be sent to excel. Bills cannot be sent to excel so you have to find a report that contains what you need. The default slip listing report comes close but usually has more information than needed/wanted. That's why I setup a custom report for my client.

You should be able to do this with what you have. 
 You want to either EXPORT the slips to an Excel sheet or use the Electronic Billing Add on. 
 What we need to know is EXACTLY what the Iowa Public Defender wants. Otherwise you are just going to be spinning your wheels trying to please them by guessing. 
 Do you have any documentation from them about what they want?
