Slip Entry Preferences

SOLVED

Hello fellow Sage citizens =)

I've been trying to move the Client Field down under the Task Field on the Slip Entries. I see the field physically moving where I want it to it doesn't stick. I've also tried saving it under PREFS but it still goes back.

Any suggestions on how to make what I want to stick?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

You don't tell us which version of Timeslips you are using, but as a general rule, this is a PREFERENCE setting. Typically, once you get it set, it sticks.

So, first, let's make sure you are setting it in the correct place, then let's try and figure out why it might not be "sticking."

Using v2020 as an example.  I would:

    •  go to (from the topmost menus) Setup,
    • Preferences,
    • (on the left side menus) Slip Entry.
    • Change the setting for Field order on Slip Entry to:Activity/Client

Now, take a moment to see where the preferences are being saved at the very top of the Preferences window.  There is a chance that you either don't have rights to edit that file, or are sharing it with someone else which is causing the setting not to save correctly.  Use the SAVE AS button at the bottom to save those settings in your very own little preference file.  I usually name it the name of the user, so Nancy.XML (or Nancy.PRF in older versions).

Test and let us know if that works for you.

Hi Nancy. Sorry about that, I am using the Premium version. I followed those exact steps before reaching out to the community and no with your suggestion I renamed the file to BibiPrefs, saved it and restarted the program. My preferences are still not sticking. Just to confirm, the top bar shows it's using the BibiPrefs file.

Hmm, that's an odd one Bibi, since you have Premium, you might want to call Sage under your support plan for help.

Hey, that's what you are paying them for right?! Relaxed

Thanks, Nancy. I called them and the rep explained that I have to change the Field Order in Slip Entry from Client/Task to Task/Client. Easy peasy lol
