How to:retain the same date for multiple same date entries

SUGGESTED

Issue: I have about two dozen timeslips for the same attorney for the same date, which is not today's date.

Explanation: Each time I finish a time slip entry and go to the next the window defaults to the current date (e.g., today's date, not the date I need). I've looked at settings but have been unable to find a setting that allows me to be the one to change the start/end date and not the software deciding for itself that the default is today's date and NOT the date I need to be working on. We had a several week delay in entering attorney tme  due to the upgrade and data transfer process. It would be really helpful if every time I start a new timeslip entry for the date I need to work on I didn't have to go into the calendar and change the date.

Thanks in advance for any help. I am sorry that this question does not seem to fit any of the "Category" or "Subcategory" offerings so I chose this one at random.

There are two possible preferences on this.

The first (default) is to always have the date be today's date. This is great if you have folks keying their own time contemporaneously.

The second option is to have the program copy the date from the last slip that you made. This is good for when the majority of your slips are NOT from today, but maybe being keyed off a written timesheet.

The setting is found here: Setup | Preferences | Slips | New Slip Rules | Copy Date. CHECK the option to have the program copy the date from slip to slip. You will still need to change the date as needed when you get a new page of entries to put in etc., but will then copy that new date until "told" differently.

You may also need to change it, exit Timeslips, then open it back up for the change to take effect.

    Hope this helps.
