Report Billable vs. non-billable hours

I need a simple report showing billable and non-billable hours by attorney, by month. For example, this month I would run a report that shows:

Attorney Jones       September           October

Billable                   150                       155

Non-billable             25                          20

The managing partner wants a snapshot that shows how the hours trend from month to month. The report options are unduly burdensome. :-)  Does anyone else use a simple report like this?

Take a look at the monthly totals by period report. Check the options to see if that will give what you want.

I use this report on the 15th and the [last day of the month] (after I have reviewed pre-bills, made corrections, and sent on the invoices on the 1st of the month)

Go to Reports>Timekeeper>Monthly Slip Totals  and select whatever he wants to see.  Sometimes the partner wants to see i.e. January - June.  You can print to an Excel file and go from there.  On mine, I filtered open, closed, inactive files as this apparently we found out effects the numbers, and saved the revised on whatever you want that way you know to go to that one every time, and you don't save over the one provided.  Hope this helps.
