Remove Slip ID from Bill

How can the Slip ID be removed from a bill?

You can edit the bill layout and delete that field from the layout.

Caren, thanks for the reply but I don't see a field for Slip ID in the bill layout.. Robert

Is there a transaction id field? Otherwise, would need to take a look to see where it is coming from.

Each slip , regardless of the client, is assigned a consecutive Slip ID number by TimeSlips.  These numbers should not be in the billing as there are gaps in the numbers (because I will have entered slips for many other clients in between the billing for the particular client). There does not appear to be a field for the billing ID, it just appears on all slips and therefore on the bills (HELP).

Sorry not billing ID, slip ID no.

Robert, you are correct that the slips are consecutively numbered as they are entered.

These numbers normally do not appear on a Bill Template, but could optionally be included if the user chooses to do so.

It appears that in your database that field has somehow been added to the bill template, and needs to be removed.

If you cannot locate it yourself, Caren or myself would be happy to remote into your machine and help you with that, but since that would entail individualized assistance, we cannot do so on a pro bono (free) basis as this type of service is what we do for a living.

So, you can either continue to try and locate that field in your layout yourself (and you may be able to do so), or hire some help to get it out.  But the main points are: 1) yes, it can be done and 2) help is available if you need it.

    Hope this helps.

If you think this suggestion was especially helpful, please consider rating it within the five star option, or clicking the green Yes button next to the "Did this answer your question?" option below.  Thanks.

I have never seen the slip ids appear on the bill untess someone specifically added the field to the layout. Are you perhaps looking at a pre-bill worksheet?

Without taking a look won't be able to really help more than this . i must admit I am a bit curious.

My problem is with a slip that may be an error carried over from a previous version when I converted. It has a 0 id and is showing up on each bill for the client. It will not be removed when billed and I cannot delete it or modify it (change task, client or to expense from time type.

Yea, that's some narly stuff there. You should never have a slip with an ID of zero. The first slip is always numbered 1, not 0.

I'd have someone remote in and look at it with you.
