Importing Bill Layout Issues/TS 2010

SUGGESTED

Need to copy a bill layout from one database to another. Have no problem exporting. Problem is importing. Sad

When I go to import the layout from the other database into this new database TS tells me I can't import because the layout is not the same as the one I'm importing. No I have no idea what the original layout is because I didn't set it up. How do I get around this???

What is the name of the file that you exported?

I meant the actual name of the file you are exporting, not the name of the bill template that you are choosing to export.

I suspect you are exporting a *.TSL file, but trying to import a *.RPT file.  Can you confirm?

    Hope this helps.

I used the program to export it with a tsl type file. I'm using the same format of tsl to import. What should I be using to import?

    mylayout.tsl

What screen are you on when you import the .TLS file? Did you go to Bills / Bill & Statement Layouts (with all layouts closed), and then click the Import button there? If you do that, you should not be "on" any layout; it should create a new one for you, and then you would save it with a name that is different from your existing layouts.
