Client billing help!

Is there a way to bill contingency clients that only pay costs, but show them the fees on a bill without billing for that? I could run a bill with just costs, but my attorney wants to have the clients see the work performed as well. Should I run a bill for just costs (for the A/R purposes) and send them a separate history bill. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Yes, you can set up the client as contingency billing for fees and use a billing layout that shows the work done but doesn't give it a value. The expenses would be billed as normal.

Note that this will mark the slips as "billed" but the value won't be permanent until you complete the flat fee and bill for the contingency amount.

Thanks so much for your answer. The client is set up as contingency but I have the fees on arrangement 2 set as do not bill. Is this wrong? When I generate an invoice, it is showing the fees and costs like a hourly bill would look. These clients are set as contingency but not a flat fee, as we do not know how long or the value of the case is. They are only paying costs until the case is over, in which I believe they may only pay a portion of the actual fees. I hope this makes sense? I suppose I could set these clients up with a different billing arrangement. I appreciate your help tremendously!!!

If the fees are set as do not bill then they usually won't show. A flat fee arrangement of contingency means you don't know what the fee will be until the end. You can generate bills "normally", without making the slips do not bill, and then put in the dollar value at the end. Look at the help under contingency.
