Conversions for data to Timeslips from Practice Management

SOLVED

We are a small firm thinking about conversion from Prosystems FX Practice Management. Are there tools available to help me bring in clients WIP and AR Detail, is this something I do myself or does Sage do this for me, and price ? Im curious before making this decision. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I have never done a conversion from Prosystems, but have done lots of other systems over the years.  As a general rule, if Prosystems can export the data to a CSV (comma separated value) file, then Timeslips can import:  Client names and addresses,  unbilled slilps (WIP), and current A/R balances.

Pricing is usually by the hour, especially when we have not done a conversion from that system before.  This tends to be a highly individualized process for each conversion.

I think Sage does offer it themselves as well.

    Hope this helps.

To add to what Nancy said, just so you are clear, Timeslips cannot import A/R detail, ie transactions, only aged balances.  Typically, when we do that type of import, if the current system can create it, we have a file that has client name and address, any custom fields being used, and the aged a/r fields.   Timeslips will create pseudo invoices based on the aging you import, so when you do it is very important.
