Is there a way to list interest charges that have accrued on a client's invoice?

My office would like to show a separate report or listing of interest charges for a client. I ran a History Bill for the Court, and it does show the interest with the corresponding invoice number, but it doesn't say the word "interest".  We would like to be able to show a separate breakdown of the interest.  Can this be done?

    Maybe this would work:
    - choose Reports > Client
    - double click on Client History by Period
    - use Selection Filters to choose the client and date range
    - click Options and unmark all options but Show Interest History
    - print

If more data is included than can fit on a page, you can go back into Options and set Period Type to Quarter, or in Report Entry you could set Print To to Microsoft Excel File to send the numbers to a spreadsheet.

(Other posters here may have better suggestions.)

    Good Luck!

Thank you! It worked like a charm. I have another question if you don't mind...I see from viewing Pre-bill Worksheets on several clients that my employer uses Compound Interest. I am not about to change anything, but I am curious as to how to set up specific types of interest, grace periods and the like. Where does this get done in Timeslips? I have T/S 2012. I looked in Set Up but didn't see anything relating to interest.

The interest is set on the client information. I believe that in Timeslips 2012 it is on the arrangement 2 tab. You can setup defaults on your client templates. The aging periods are set in SETUP - GENERAL - AGING PERIODS. There is also a tab under Setup - General where you can set minimum finance charges.

Thank you. I looked at a random list of our clients and it appears that all of them have Compound Interest (as opposed to "Simple Interest") already in Arrangement 2. So someone (before me) must have set it up that way. I see what you said about Set ups etc. but I don't see where all clients can be changed to Simple Interest instead of Compound interest. It doesn't appear that it was done through Arrangement 2.

To change on all clients you would need to change on one client and then export the change. Make sure you do a backup first as there is no undo if you change the wrong things. If you are not comfortable with doing this a consultant can help you. Should be very quick.

Thank you very much, Caren. We are leaving things as they are for now. On another note, hope you had a delicious holiday!
