TS 2016 - Bill/Screen Issue

SOLVED

I recently upgraded to Timeslips 2016.

When I view a bill on screen, the words and amounts on right side of the bill are cut off. However, if I print the bill to paper or PDF, it prints correctly.

When I go to review a previously printed and accepted bill, once again the words and amounts on the right side are cut off, even more so. Again, if I re-print to paper or PDF, it prints correctly.

Is there some way to get the bill to look correct on the screen so I can see everything? There is plenty of "room" on the screen to see the entire bill, but it only shows a portion of the bill with the right side cut off.

I am using a relatively new HP notebook computer with Windows 10.

Thanks.

Steve

It's an incompatibility between your display driver and your printer driver. You can try upgrading your video driver but no guarantees

The other possibility is your display settings. Check that you have the display set as 100% not larger.

    Caren,

You are apparently correct. I had it set to 125%. When I set it to 100%, I was able to see the entire bill. Of course, this changed the look of everything and the way icons and many apps displayed on screen much smaller than before.

Even though this worked, I will not keep it at 100% for the reasons I stated. Since the window that opens to view the bill is much wider than the actual bill that is displayed, even when set to 125%, this seems to be the function of poor coding on the part of the programmers. The program should take into account the different resolutions and automatically adjust for it (like all my other programs.)

    Thanks for responding.

    Steve:

The real question is why is your screen resolution so high that you have to use the 125% setting? Folks use a higher than necessary resolution, then can't see anything because it is so small, then use the percentage boost to be able to see something. In essence using two settings to achieve one goal.

Try leaving it at 100%, and just lowering the resolution to get a larger size.

I have resolution set to the "recommended" Windows setting of 1920x1080, (which is the native resolution of my HD screen.)

I also have the size of text, apps and other items also at their Windows "recommended" 125%.

    Does that make sense?

Yes that makes sense. But if you are not at 100% you will have screen issues in Timeslips
