2016 Timeslips Aged AR Filters

Just updated to 2016 Timeslips.  Before the upgrade, when we ran a report for Aged AR, we had the option of going to Finish Billing, Aged AR, selecting Client in the Filter and then selecting client-attorney filter, which would show only that particular attorney's aged ar accounts.  When we try and do this now, none of the attorneys names are listed and I cannot figure out to set up this filter.  Help!!

Sounds like you are trying to filter on a Client Custom Field. Does this sound correct?

What version are you upgrading FROM? If you open the Aged AR report, and click on the Filter Group: Client, do you see the "client-attorney" field at all? It might be named Client client-attorney or something similar.

When you say "none of the attorneys names are listed" does that mean that you see the field name, but clicking on it to use it does not give you the list of attorneys?

Just trying to imagine what you are getting, when and how.

If you open up a Client's individual record (Client Information), do you see a section on the left hand menus called Custom Fields? Is the "client-attorney" field shown there? Is it populated with data?

Did you have any trouble with your conversion from the previous version?

That sounds correct. We upgraded from the 2013 version to the 2016 version. When I go to aged ar balances, in the filter group, I pull down client, and then select the client attorney filter. When I do, I get a screen that is a box saying "filter for" and it says I can select a range of client names. There are no attorney's listed. You asked about the client's individual record (client information). I do see the section to the left called custom fields. Under that is a tab that says Group 1 - when I click on that, the attorney to which that client is assigned is there.

Hmm, that is an odd one. So, the field exists and you can see it as a possible filter, but the content of that filter is: blank or a list of client names?

I'd get everyone out, make a backup and do a Data Verification (under File menu at the topmost left) and choose to Look for Errors ONLY. If it comes back with no errors, then I would run it again and choose to Rebuild Data Indices.

If that does not help, then restore the backup you did before starting anything.

If you get any problems when you choose Look for Errors Only, then the next step will depend on what those errors are.

If the data verification shows no errors you might try closing all open windows in Timeslips and then go to Setup - Preferences - Interface - Appearance - Restore all dialog settings to the defaults. We could also try recreating the report.

One other thought. There are service releases for Timeslips 2016. They are not automatic. You have to go download. Don't recall what was fixed but you might go to help - about and check your service release level. If it is not 24.0.2.17 or higher go download and install the service release

I think Caren is right on. This sounds like the issue corrected in service release 1.
