Timeslips 2016 SLOW!!!

We recently updated from 2009 to 2016 Timeslips.  We have 3 users, database is stored on small server.  All computers are running Windows 7, same version. Since we upgraded Timeslips is extremely slow, particularly when entering slips.  Just to tab through is slow but saving is worse.  We have tried multiple scenarios, with only one user in, no link to QB, etc.  Each user deletes the temp files off their computer each night.  I see a folder in our TSShare folder called "@recycle" which has a lot of pdoxusrs and paradox files, so does the Trash folder in TSShare (not even sure why we have those honestly).  Would those cause a problem?  If so can the entire trash and recycle folders be deleted? I have also tried changing the security settings on the TSShare so that the "Everyone" users have full control, but the system won't let me change those.  This is getting super difficult to work with so any help would be great!

Okay, so sort of a lot of information there, but I like more information, so let's see what sort of insight I can give you.

In a 'plain' Timeslips installation, there are no folders called @recycle or Trash. If you are seeing those folders, someone at your location added them. Perhaps a long time ago, but those are unique folders to you that other users would not have.

You also would want Everyone to have full control on the TSShare folder. You need to figure out why you cannot change that and make it happen.

When creating slips, do your users also have a Slip List running at the same time? If so, try closing the list while you enter individual slips.

Also, I would make sure that your antivirus is NOT scanning 1) TSShare on the server and any other folder where the program an data may be stored, 2) the C:\Program Files (x86)\Timeslips folder on the individual workstations and 3) the location where Timeslips is trying to save temp files. By default, this will be C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\. You can set an alternative folder, such as C:\Program Files (x86)\Timeslips\LocalTempFiles in the Preference settings within Timeslips.

    Hope this helps.

You can go to setup - performance settings and uncheck everything. I would also suggest you run a database verification and look for errors. I had this issue with a client and that was the problem .There are other things we can check in addition to this and Nancy's suggestions. Also make sure Timeslips on the server and the workstations is excluded from anti-virus
