API to get reports

Question

I want to have a program pull transactions (denied direct debits in particular -> VIRTUAL_CHECK_PPD_SALE). 
 I don't want to give this to a person. I want a program to perform logging on and retrieving the transactions daily. 
 Where is the documentation to do this?

 Information on the APIs available which are completely cloud based (like Sage Accounting), can be found here . The API reference documentation can be accessed here.
