History

SUGGESTED

Ok.  Complete newbie to Sage Asset software. Took over as Controller a month ago.   How in the heck to I run any historical data?  I'm trying to run reports from say a year ago to make sure my data ties to the GL but can't seem to make it work.

    Hi  ,

Thank you for reaching out and welcome to the role of Controller. It sounds like you're looking to gather historical data using Sage software. To clarify, are you using Sage Accounting? If so, there are a few steps you can take to ensure you can view past transactions and reports:

    1. Check Filters on Transaction Lists/Reports: By default, Sage Accounting sets the date range to the current month. Adjust the date range by selecting the correct "From" and "To" dates and then hit "Search" or "Calculate" to refresh the list. Ensure the search box is empty and no keyword filters are applied.

    2. Audit Trail Report: Go to Reporting > Audit Trail. Make sure the date range selected includes the transactions you're looking for. This report shows all transactions, including deleted ones, in chronological order.

    3. Review Transaction Types: Ensure that you're looking at the correct type of transactions. For example, check if transactions are entered as Quick entries or Opening Balances instead of Invoices, or Other Payments instead of Purchase Invoices. You can find these under Sales/Purchases > Invoices and Quick entries, Settings > Opening balances, and Banking activity > Other payments and Other Receipts.

    4. Contact Activity Search: This is often the most comprehensive way to search. Select the customer or supplier to see their details, ensure you're on the "Activity" tab, select the date range, and you should see all transaction types, including Invoices, Opening balances, Quick Entries, and Bank transactions.

If you find that this information doesn't apply or you are using a different Sage product, please let me know so I can guide you to the correct resources or forum for assistance.

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi
