How to add documents into Sage Evolution

SOLVED

Hi there

I do not use Sage Evolution myself, I'm just the IT Administrator for the company. They currently use Sage Evolution 7.10.0.108.

One of the ladies remember being able to add documents into Pastel and frankly, so do I from previous companies I used to work for. We want to know how to enable this or how to do it, I googled it but there is very little articles dealing with Sage Evolution on the net...I keep finding things about Sage One or Sage 50 etc.

Is this possible. For instance, they want to scan in a delivery note signed by the customer and add it to the customer or the order or the invoice or where-ever, Im not sure.

Thanks!

    Good Afternoon

Can you please first specify on exactly which screen/s you want to add/attach a link?

How to do it is of course different between different type of Evolution screens.

    Kind regards

    Hi Bennie

I assume they want to load it against a customer. Or perhaps to the last tax invoice to the customer...so if they open the invoice, the accompanying documents are there. I remember other versions of Pastel having this function. I did email Evolution Support and they said its not possible in Evolution, the code does not allow for it.

    Do you have a workaround?

    Good Afternoon

To insert a note or any document type on any source document, e.g. Invoice, GRV, Sales order etc, do the following:

    1) On the relevant transaction screen, e.g. Invoice, click the Open button at the top

    2) Search for the relevant processed or unprocessed document so that its listed on the grid below, but not yet opened to the front screen

    3) Right click on the listed document and click on Notes

    4) On the opened Notes screen, right click and select Insert Object

50 You can now browse and attache any document e.g. PDF , Word doc

    Kind Regards

Wow ok that is very interesting...but - no PDF option and if I insert from file it only inserts it as a picture in the note. If I insert word etc it gives me that type of document interface, it doesnt add as an attachment.

But thanks very much, there is a use for this aswell that I can implement.
