Find attached a little guide I compiled to explained the principle of selling kit items on an invoice. 

Else, if you don't want to use the BOM/Manufacturing module, then consider making use of an Invoice Template with the various kit items already included for r-use over and over again.

To answer both your questions:

1) No, I'm not referring to the forms in forms designer. Please carefully go through it and then ask me a specific question/s if you still not sure about anything. I'll gladly assist  

2) The BOM/Manufacturing module is an add on module that you need to separately purchased.

Sure, no problem

Do the following

1. Capture all the invoice will all the transaction lines you need

2. Don't capture any customer account at all

3. When done, simply click the Save button at the top

4. Then click Yes on this messge prompt 

5. Finally, when you now want to start making use of the template, open a new Invoice, click the Open button at the top to open the Invoice Maintenance screen and then filter on the Template option 

6. When done click the Find button on the right to reveal your filer search results 

7. If you find the template you're looking for, double click on it to bring it to the main Invoice transaction screen

8. Continue as normal processing in this screen, adding the customer, correct prices etc and process when done.
