Seems the moderators are very busy, lets see if we can sort this out. 
After installation,
1) ensure the FREEDOM service is running in your services.msc.
2) Open Microsoft SQL Server management Studio and ensure you can login successfully using the same details you provided during setup example the server name, username and password.
3) Ensure the database you specified during initial setup is also showing in the list of databases in your SQL studio

Mine Freedom Service shows - http://<Computer name>:5000/freedom.core/SageOneTest because SageOneTest is my database name.

Please what version of the Freedom API Guidelines doc are you using for your integration too? Can you share a link to it?

Cn you please specify the exact  company database name of the Evolution company in which you setting up the Freedom Service?

Look on you Evolution company logon screen. Is there any special characters in the company DB name?

Yes I can connect to the database fine via SQL Server Management Studio. My company database is simply called Test. I made another database (Test2) and that also doesn't display under the Freedom Service






Could part of the issue be that I am using SQLExpress ?

FYI Makes no difference. Just created a new instance of SQL Server without the \SQLExpress. Created a new Company DB Test 3. Database name still doesn't appear next to the Freedom Service URL

Problem solved !

The issue was that I had SQL Server previously installed on my PC but set to use Windows Authentication and not Mixed mode.

I altered the Server to use Mixed Mode instead and I was able to connect to the Freedom Service
