Please apply the following steps and then advice me on the outcome:

1. Backup the company and ensure all users are logged out.

2. Login to the company and go to Order Entry | Maintenance | Orders Relink | click the Start button 

3. When done, test the speed of merging orders and let me know if there is any improvement or not

I tried Relinking and it ran the process successfuly

But even after relinking there is no noticeable improvement - time taken per invoice is still over 20 Seconds working directly from the server with only 1 user logged on

Across the LAN it takes even longer

Well, it s at least one possibility scratched from the list then

in that case, please check the size of the company database's, MS SQL LDF file (the LOG file) which can be found in the same parent folder as the MDF file.

Please confirm the size of the LDF file for me.

Hectic work day, see below the size of the database

Alpine.mdf 3,708,096 KB Alpine_log.ldf 1,108,800.00

We have been running the company since 2017
We tried purging and archiving all open transactions and financial periods leaving only 2021 Q1 open, but the problem still persists

We tried running the reduced size file on A higher spec server with SQL 2016 - still same problem

Im at wits end
