General: Slowness, hanging, latency issues opening Sage Evolution

You may notice that it takes several seconds e.g., 1 minute or longer just to open Sage Evolution after double clicking on the Evolution desktop icon. This is just to land on the company opening screen.

Note that this issue may especially be more relevant to RDP / Terminal Server environments with all users observing the above-mentioned slowness.

    It seems that each new version release is slower than the previous one. V11 is even slower than V10. What takes a long time is the loading of the Toolbars after the user has confirmed the system date. This can sometimes take a couple of minutes to complete, especially in a terminal server / hosted server environment.

    This is especially aggravated in a multi-branch head office environment where the user needs to continually log off and on again to switch branches. Can waste several hours in the day looking at the Sage logon loading screen.

    Why would it be necessary to load every single possible toolbar for screens that the user may never even want to use? It is not like Sage is then very fast switching between modules anyway. It takes a while to load each time the user selects a new node on the system tree.

    Is anything being done to improve this?

    Can you formally log this query with Sage Evolution Support?

    Do this by using the following new procedure that we introduced:

    1. Log into the Sage Portal  (https://portal.sage.co.za/accounting)

    2. Go to Support  |  Log a Query (New) or click here

    You should immediately notice the new support reference number, please send it to me so I can further continue with the new query.

    Did you by any chance log the above query?

    We having a similar issue with one of our clients where the Creating Toolbars on Logging on or refreshing takes 6 minutes plus.

    We've uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, created a new Common database and still experiencing the same issue.

    If you don't receive any feedback from Mathew (I'm actually sure he will, but just in case), you're welcome to log the query yourself.

    Also, note that clients' local environments are unique. It may therefore be preferred to rather log this query yourself. Then we can address your local environment as part of resolving the query.

    Hi. no, I did not get to log it as yet. We don't seem to have access to log support queries in the partner zone. I think it is different for us being an international partner in New Zealand. If you could go ahead and log the issue with support, that would be great. I am still very keen to get a solution.

    Just to confirm, are you using the following steps to log Support queries? And are you then still unable to log the query? 

    1. Log in to the Sage Portal (https://portal.sage.co.za/accounting)
    2. Go to the Support | Log a Query (New)menu.
    3. Continue logging your new query.
