The Labour Laws Amendment Bill, which proposes to amend the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and the Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA) was passed by the National Assembly on Tuesday, 28 November 2017. The proposed amendments provide for the following leave entitlements and benefits:
• Paternal Leave
• Adoption Leave
• Commissioning Paternal Leave

These are only proposed changes and are not yet law. As soon as the Labour Laws Amendment Bill is promulgated and becomes law, we will send out communicate on how to apply these changes on the payroll system.
