Allocating leave in lieu of monetary payment for time spent working, or to give an employee time off is common practice. An entitlement type has been created to suit this requirement.
This functionality allows you to allocate leave to an employee that expires after a certain period. Each allocation transaction has its own period of validity that determines when an employee can take this leave.
Setting up the Leave in Lieu Definition Line
Navigate to Company Management > Leave > Leave Definitions> New
On the Leave Definition’s Entitlement type, "I – Leave in Lieu" has been added. When this type is selected, the Rules and Pro-Rate tabs are no longer available. The Cycle Length and Cycle Length Units are used to determine the leave expiry default on the allocation transaction. This default can be changed at the time of allocation
Then the definition needs to be added to the policy
Navigate to Company Management > Leave > Policies
The field will be available on the employees Leave detail screen
Navigate to Employee Management> Employees> Leave Detail
The process definition linking needs to be setup
Navigate to Self Service> Setup> process definition linking
Then you will be able to apply for the leave on ESS
