Terminated an employee from sage 300 people

Hi all, 
 An employee XYZ is already terminated, but the other employees which were linked to this terminated employees still shows reports to XYZ(terminated). Do we have to change this manually to a new employee or it should go blank once the employee is terminated(reports to should be blank).

 You need to link the employees to a new reports to.

The reports to manager's employee record will still be on the payroll and the system does not automatically remove it just because that person has been terminated. It works on the same principle if a new manager starts, you need to link those employees to the new reports to manager in order for the workflow for the respective ESS processes to go through to the new manager for approval.
