After installing Sage 300 Product Update, workstation receives an error when opening desktop. Error "You do not have license to use this product".

Cause

A requirement of installing Product updates is to reinstall workstation setup on each workstation. If this step has been missed or workstation setup failed to complete installation, then the workstation maybe missing the correct version of Microsoft's Desktop Library Interop. If this file does not match the product update version, error's may arise.

This file is located in the following windows folder:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\DsktpLibInterop

Under DsktplibInterop will be the related folder for version of the Product update. For example, if Product update for Sage 300 2018 number 1 was installed than folder would be v4.0_6.5.0.1__<id> and the file in folder DsktplibInterop.dll would be listed as 6.5.0.1.

 

This will be present for each product update available at this time.

Resolution

Run Workstation setup then verify if DsktplibInterop.dll matches the Product update.
