Sage 300: Ops Inquiry connection to Failed error when activating the module

Problem:

When trying to activate Ops Inquiry user gets error: “Connection to Failed. Please make sure you have the correct username and password

Cause:

How Sage 300 connection in the database setup

Resolution:

In database setup, edit DB and provide Server/Host Name instead of IP address in "Data Source/Server" option.

  • In addition to the above:

    • If the issue is only experienced on 1 workstation you will need to ensure that you compare the connections of the working machines vs the one with the issue.
    • If ODBC connection are used , just ensure that the ODBC name is configured with the exact name and match the casing for the ODBC names.

    • In a case where SQL Express is used ensure that the SQL server Browser service is running and that the services is not blocked by firewall
