How to turn off Sage Advisor logging?

Cause

In the Shared Data\Company folder, there is a folder called "AdvisorLogs" which records every screen opened by Sage 300 Users..

For security reasons, some companies may wish to disable this.

Resolution

1. Log all users out of Sage 300.
2. Within the Sage 300 Shared\Company folder located the AdvisorLogs folder.. Rename this folder to AdvisorLog-bak.
3. Within the Sage 300\Runtime folder, locate the following file. Sage.CA.SBS.ERP.Sage300.AdvisorUpload.exe.config
   • <where Sage 300> is the location of your Sage 300 Program files.
4. Make a copy of this file before making any edits..
5. Right-click on the file and click "Edit" to open the file in Notepad.
6. locate the section <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
7. Change this to <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="false">
8. Save the file.
9. Log back into Sage 300, advisor logging should no longer be enabled.
