Problem:

After clearing serial number qty from a shipment and making the shipment qty back to 0 and posting, the error message displays when trying to use the cleared serial in a new transaction. This operation will result in an invalid status of the Serial Number xxx for item xxx 

Resolution:

Ensure to run Day-End Processing and follow by running DIC first without the fix option to see if the serial number in question is reported.

Then run the DIC once more with the fix minor errors option to clear the status to available again.

This is reported to have resolved the issue, and the serial number is once more available for use.
